Designing an airfield that serves a number of civil and military tenants, BBI  provided expertise related to specific improvements to Ellington Field generators and airfield.  Ellington Field (EFD) is a class D airport located Southeast of Houston with a portion of its mission to serve General Aviation.  In addition to General Aviation, EFD serves a number of civil and military tenants literally responsible for the safety of the United States.

The design team’s responsibilities include understanding the existing conditions at the airfield, making recommendations related to specific improvements and identifying issues related to phasing and sequencing of construction in order to maintain operations.  Existing projects and airport improvements were researched to help ensure an efficient and comprehensive design and a clear division of responsibility between the related projects at the interface point.
