Anderson Mill Road
Cedar Park, Texas
As Cedar Park and Williamson County continue to grow, the City continues to need to improve existing roadways to maintain safety and mobility. Anderson Mill Roadway from FM 1431 to Cypress Creek currently has high traffic volumes due to local neighborhood trips as well as a high number of construction related vehicles. BBI was selected to provide alternative alignments analyses and ultimate design of the roadway improvements. The project is being designed and constructed in two segments. The first segment, from Cypress Creek Boulevard to Zepplin Drive will add a through lane in each direction of traffic. The present section has a raised median with one traffic lane, sporadic outside curb & gutter, and meandering sidewalk. The second segment is from Lime Creek Road to FM 1431. This segment will increase the existing 2-lane roadway to a 4-lane with right and left-turn lanes to accommodate the existing quarry facility and new developments. The segment is highly challenging due to constraints caused by environmental preserves on either side of the road and the significance of karst features throughout the region as well as requiring the 2-way traffic be maintained throughout construction.
