Pharr Interchange Schematic: IH 2 at IH 69C

Pharr, Texas

BBI was recently awarded a prime provider contract with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to prepare plans, specifications and estimates (PS&E) and related documents, for various projects in both rural and urban settings throughout Texas or statewide. These services included preparing roadway and bridge design, hydrologic and hydraulic design, traffic signal design, survey, geotechnical data collection, and design support. BBI will also testify as the Engineer of Record at ROW hearings, and construction phase services necessary to support the design process.

As part of the contract, BBI is currently assisting the TxDOT Pharr District with providing engineering services required for the alternatives analysis, structural feasibility study, environmental and public involvement process, traffic modeling and operational analysis, and cost analysis to determine the preferred alternative for reconstruction of the IH 2 (US 83) / IH 69C (US 281) interchange in Pharr, Texas.

Once a preferred alternative is selected through the NEPA process, the BBI team, which includes eight subconsultants, will perform the full PS&E preparation for the interchange improvements. These improvements will include roadway, bridge/structural, drainage, geotechnical, and traffic engineering tasks as well as surveys, SUE, and utility coordination.
